I have gas!

The Democrat party leaders in Washington give me gas! Check out this headline from today's news! http://www.foxnews.com/urgent_queue/index.html#a54ef44,2008-06-18

They want to nationalize the oil refineries! We should all be scared! Very Scared that they would even bring it up!

I'll admit that I'm hypersensitive to government interference in business right now because I just finished reading Atlas Shrugged and I am diligently writing a long, long essay on it as I try to organize and reconcile my thoughts. Who is John Galt? If you've read it, you know all that that means!

We have got to stand up and fight any attitude of nationalizing anything...it would be the end of our country as we know it and love it. On principle, I'd rather see oil companies blow-up their refineries then turn them over to the government.

Government run anything is less efficient than private industry. They are wasteful, full of bureaucratic red-tape, prone to corruption, and so on and so forth. If the government controlled our gas supply, prices would not decrease. Oil production would be less and therefore the limited supply would be distributed to the corrupt individuals who deal in dark rooms with the goverment officials controlling the oil supply.

The solution? Cut through the red tape and let American businesses drill for oil, build refineries, and distribute it allowing the laws of supply and demand and competition to dictate market prices.

Good post man.

You're absolutely right. Japan is about as far left as you can go, and it's really sad to see the state of their economy, not to mention the lack of interest by businesses in shareholder value. Anyone who tells you that it is turning/has turned is blowing smoke. They are as socialistic as it gets, and it's really sad to see how inefficient everything is. They would prefer to show the public that they are overpaying taxes, than show the public how profitable they are. I know, I know, technology experts, you might say. Japan is great with one thing, they memorize, memorize, memorize.

I fear it is only a matter of time before the masses overtake the government in the US, demanding socialistic treatment. It will happen, it's just a question of when.

I am totally with you on this one!
I just read your comment on your parents blog about grandma C's house and the four-wheeler experience! I had completely forgotten about that! WOW! I am sorry your shirt got ruined. At the time I was just sad our four-wheeler got scratches on it. :) oh.. and I loved what you told people about your scars! You are so funny! (maybe goofy is a better word)

Curious what you think about the possibility of a truckers strike. Our home teachers brought the subject up yesterday.
